here's how we can find out if that's true:
have you bought a lottery ticket? have you participated in any lottery in other ways? even if you have, check the name of the lottery precisely and also requisites like address and phone number, check if they are the same as in the yellow pages. actually, it's most likely a scam. don't give your credit card number or any personal information until you sure what you deal with. you could even complain against them, if they are real company they won't get punished. and if they are not, you will save your money and also money of other people they try to trick.

Ha Ha, it always makes me laugh that people who get these e-mails, letters or text messages actually believe they have won. If you didnt enter the competition, you didnt win it. Bin the e-mail and dont even think twice that it could be real. I bet there are spelling mistakes and all sorts of crap in there. Now, if the National Lottery personally knock on your door and give you millions of pounds thats a different matter......

Mostly every day loads of mails are being circulated through this media. Unfortunately they all are nothing but "SCAMS".

Initially I used to respond, in turn they were asking me to pay some money towards so & so expenses.

So you should simply IGNORE this kind of mails and add them to spam filters so it blocks automatically. Remember if you respond you will get loads of emails (I am receiving approx 350 a day all goes to Spam!)

Hope you now aware what to do with it....
