how many days will they go without fish food?

First off, it won't hurt fish to go for one or several days without food and it's best to underfeed than overfeed anyway. Please avoid bread or any other empty calorie food. Also, foods like these have added seasonings and additives which may not be good for the fish. Because goldfish produce such high waste, they only need to be fed once a day and just enough that they can eat the equivalent of about two mouthsful. Whether you feed flakes or pellets, you need to soak the food before feeding so that the goldfish don't get air in their stomachs. Remove any uneaten food after 5 minutes. Most fish are omnivorous, which means that they like and need fruits and veggies in addition to their regular diet of flakes or pellets. So, you should feed them things such as frozen or freeze-dried brine shrimp, plankton and freeze dried bloodworms, scuds, tubifex, daphnia, cocktail shrimp, dark green lettuces (not iceberg) and spinach, thawed frozen peas or fresh boiled peas with the skins removed, chopped boiled eggs, cucumber, zucchini, broccoli flowers, boiled cauliflower, fruits such as oranges, grapes, kiwi fruit, melons, bananas, strawberries, etc. None of these foods should be seasoned in any way. Take out anything that they don't show interest in or don't eat all of it.

hi,

gold fish are quite tough, they can survive without food for weeks.(with good water parameters)

however let say you have an emergency, u can feed them fresh fish protein: say fish meat, shrimp, squids cut them in sizes they can consume, however dont overfeed. fish pellets are most likely made of these fish proteins. I have even tried unsalted canned tuna (water, not oil), they go into feeding frenzy. just a little though, we do not want to pollute the water.

cheers

that's going to be super devoid of foodstuff for an afternoon or 2,even if oatmeal is a passable foodstuff for goldfish yet no longer a lot of human beings recognize this. be particular to feed different feed besides and complement with oatmeal in case you like.you will could desire to get rid of any uneaten oatmeal after ten minutes however.

first of all ,it is very irresponsible for you to"run out of fish food".this should never happen, but i dont know that there is anything in the kitchen that they can eat without dying.do you ever run out of food where you have to "eat fish food" till you can get more? lol
