I agree with you. But if you put the hijab it means men are not supposed to see you, so what you can do is just do not show your avatar.
Why don't you add this suggestion to Yahoo! Answers department???

a million. I positioned on the hijab first and maximum suitable on the grounds that's commanded by potential of Allah swt interior the Quran. yet i like wearing it, it identifies me as a Muslim, it retains me from being ogled and it jogs my memory of my responsibilities. 2. i don't look after the braided hijab type, yet it fairly is own flavor. as long as a variety covers what that's meant to hide, i might a minimum of evaluate it, yet my tastes tend to be slightly tame (i'm 30+) 3. interior the abode the place no you may even see you yet people who've a particular kin relationship, or women folk, or youthful toddlers, you do not could positioned on it, except you're praying. yet once you're exterior the place you are going to be seen (because of the fact the girl on your occasion became) then you definately do could positioned on it. Your questions weren't in the slightest degree impolite and that i thank you on your interest in Islam. Please be at liberty to jot down me in case you ought to any extent further questions.

Salams!
I`ve thought the same thing myself - and ended up picking the closest Avatar "outfit" I could find.
Of course, it`s only a picture, not the real me. But why bother having an Avatar at all? It`s just an expression of who we are, or who we`d like to be (or, in some cases - a good joke!). So why NOT have something like a hijab, or Jewish yarmulke, or whatever else might be appropriate? They could make some very cool and very beautiful islamic outfits, if they wanted to.
I can`t understand why you`re being attacked and insulted for asking this question. That is really too bad. (Perhaps they are the same people who insult us on the street....?). Maybe they just feel threatened.... (same old stuff...). But it`s also nice to see the support. Keep it up! And please DO write Yahoo Answers about it. I will too, and I`m sure others will join in.

I pray (tho i'm an atheist), that [no offense] you get a life... Honestly, "Arabs" are getting lamer by the minute these days... You mention kimonos and saris, well, bare in mind that none of these cloths are 'religious symbols' while the hijab is clearly an Islamic symbol, not to mention an oppressive tool (yea i know you're gonna defend hijab and say it's protective and is a symbol of pride and all that bulls*t, I understand you're urge to protect what you believe in, however believing in something doesn't make it necessarily true)
So, while you're at it [requesting hijabs], you might as well ask for a burqo3, a nikab, crucifixes, jewish menorahs in the background, buddhist statues...
Please, take the time to read the website that i'll include below, eventhough i have the feeling that you won't, but anyways it's always worth a try.
PS: I'm not an Anti-Muslim evil Imperialist American Zionist conspiracy advocate who's sole purpose is to wipe the Middle east off the world map. (just to make things clear)

hello...
There are muslims dresses for avatars. I have seen them.....Try to look for a muslim girl with the nick of "muslimah"..She has an avatar with veil in her face and she told another muslim girls where to get that. I think that you can find that inside arab yahoo.
Sorry that i cant help you more.
I think that if you want a hijab.......why not??? It is your right, and is just what cultural diversity is about.
Salam

It's a great idea and many people thought about it also. Why don't we send our wish to Yahoo? may be they do it simply.
For people who doesn't feel comfortable to see or hear about Hijab : Please remember no body force you put it if you don't like it. Why you can't leave people have all avatars they wish and like?

look up Maro's mum and if this isn't good enough import your own.
When I discovered how pretty all these avatars were I had to go look for a more realistic representation of me.
I mean seriously, shouldn't yahoo cater for us people with green skin?

Well I don't like it. Not that I discriminate against anyone who wears it. I can't understand whats wrong if someone looks at your hair. It is a form of modesty? I guess not, I have seen girls wearing hijab along with tons of make up and tight clothing which leave nothing for the imagination. On the other hand I have seen with no hijab who are quite very moderate and conservative.
Hijab is also not convenient for example on hot summer days. I like things simple. I would never date / marry a girl who wears hijab.
How does an avatar with a hijab supposed to make you more comfortable?
Thank You.
