This might be a dumb question but please bear with me. I want to write and publish books based on a computer game called (Command & Conquer) but I don't know where to begin. Where should I turn to if I want to be an author based on a game? I do know there are some fanfiction sites but I read somewhere that fanfics are not for profit. Any ideas or comments are great. Thanks. :)

I'd advise that just go ahead and write if you really have something to tell the world. If you do not know where to begin, then perhaps you have not organized your thoughts yet. Do not think about profits right now. Write first. Where are the chicken? They are still in the sacs. So do not count them before they are hatched. Some eggs may not even hatch! Get what I mean? Write the fanfics first and think about making tangible profits later. Good writers including sci-fi writers, begin by getting out their creative drives then readers judge their worth and value. You should not cross bridges you have not come to!
Go ahead and write one thriller and we'll evaluate its potential for you.

Good luck

You would unfortunately need permission from Electronic Arts to do this, and it is very unlikely that if they were interested in making books about their games they would choose an unknown person to do so.
