So I've been married 2 years; we've been together 7 years total and intimate for 5; and I feel like I'm too young for this to be happening. We are in a serious romantic rut. Please give me ideas & advice, how to initiate or set the mood, be more romantic, and spice things up in bed (with different positions, etc). We've experimented some, but seem to keep going back to the old tried and true, and I'm bored!! Links/references welcome! Please help me spice things up!!
(FYI we're not extremely athletic ppl, but we're not too out of shape either).
I just need some ideas to try... thanks ppl!!

A lot more to think about other than sexual positions although experimentation can be fun.
First is to be more intimate when not expected. Put a note in his pocket so that he can find it in work, send him an e mail or in some other way give him a detailed description of what you intend to do to him when he gets home from work. He will be home early for sure.
If you live alone together and he is sitting watching TV walk in with two glasses of wine. Nothing else, including cloths. This should get his immediate attention.
Share a bath, visit a sauna together, make love on the balcony, try to excite him when you are together somewhere that he cannot react very much. Light sexual contact in a public place such as a cinema or restaurant will trigger his desire but he cannot do anything about it immediately. Build some tension and anticipation but be prepared for when you get to the car or home
Start thinking about all those things that you really wanted to try but thought were too rude or weird. Chances are that he has thought of them as well. Talk about and try.
Be romantic. Buy him little personal gifts. Simple candy in the shape of a heart can mean more than a new Porche. Send him some flowers to the office. Buy him some cloths that you think are sexy. Just kiss him when you want to and not when it is expected.
Don't just spice things up in bed, spice them up everywhere.

Tease your husband (I'm assuming you're a woman based on your image). Give him a lingering kiss first thing in the morning before you leave for work...call him at work and tell him you're just waiting to get him home alone...when he does get home give him another kiss but then have dinner...take a shower together and enjoy all the sensations...get the picture? And our favorite position when we're wanting something different is the X position. Heads at opposite ends of the bed, one leg over and one leg under the other person's legs, your middles line up.

Listen to music together, watch a movie together sitting on the couch holding each other. Go for walks, get off the computer, turn off the tv and play board games, eat outside, have a glass of wine, sit in front of the fire on a blanket, make woopie outside, go for a ride in the car, carage ride in the park...get out of the house.

Have you guys talked about each others fantasies? Try to fulfill each others fantasies, but be careful, make sure your both on board before doing anything to risky.
Without details, that I'm not asking for that's the best advise I can give you, as I've been married 12 yrs. but we still act like newlyweds, were in our 40's which really eeks some of our friends which are much younger than us.

Hope this helps email me if you need anything else

I don't think positions are your answer. Sexual desire comes from the mind, Maybe plan a night out at a romantic place, or just go out to dinner and then you have no cleanup to do after dinner, Maybe find a romantic movie to watch together. Possibly a soft porn movie can help.
Take a ride to an area where you will have privacy and just enjoy yourselves.
Good luck

A good physical relationship starts with a good social/emotional one...I am so satisfied with my womens character that when I touch her lips with mine I feel the love between us...I take that moment to the fullest, kissing for as long as 30 minutes at a time and let it take this passion were ever she reacts the best to...not being in any hurry to become sexual...but when it does...its the things dreams are made of...!

Make his favorite dinner. Leave a note on the table telling him you had to go somewhere and that dinner is in the microwave. In the microwave place a note telling him to go somewhere else in the house...keep doing this with the notes for as long as you want. then your last note send him to the bedroom where you are waiting with the candles and dinner....with a Special Desert *S*

Wear cute little outfits for him, sexy nurse, cheerleader, etc, my husband loves those. You can be creative with just about anything in your closet! Once I bought a Hooters outfit off of ebay and made some of their food on their menu and served him at home in the outfit. If you feel sexy the sex will be better! Do a strip tease for him.

Spontaneity gets a man's attention. Men are more visually oriented so attire gets high points. In my opinion a man wants to know his woman is hot for him, that she is thinking about him when he is not around and that she really wants him. A man wants to know that he can give his woman pleasure. Her pleasure is his greatest turn-on. Romance is a state of mind...think in a way and behave in a way that increases positive feelings towards one another. Flirt with him.
