They mean a few things. First, if you have your iPod to sync automatically, then the songs that are unchecked will erase as soon as you connect the iPod. Also, if you are playing some songs lets say in a playlist in iTunes and one of the songs is unchecked then it won't play unless you click on it to do so. If you are listening to your music library in shuffle or whatever, the songs that are unchecked won't play.

That what they're for. So it means that they are some kind of organizing system.

get limewire, have you ever tried renaming it through appropriate clicking and renaming it or basically get limewire, itz extra appropriate. also insted of reproduction and pasting, itz a lot less complicated dragging and droppin to the ipod, lol.
