Since everyone else said Marino and overlooked the obvious answers - there are two QBs who come to mind almost immediately. Fran Tarkenton of the Vikings and Jim Kelly of the Bills. I believe Tartenton got his team to three SB appearences, and Kelly got the Bills to four.

Dan Marino by a long shot. But let's not forget Fran Tarkenton as a Viking, who went to the Super Bowl three times (without a win). I wished you had asked who was the greatest quarterback to never play in the Super Bowl. That would be SOME list to choose from (my choice would be Warren Moon)

Well, there are many great ones such as Kelly, Moon, Tarkenton, Fouts. I think Marino still has to be considered the best ever without a title. Maybe even if you don't count the Super Bowl. He never had a running game or much of a defense. He did everything a quarterback could do for a team.

Dan Marino. He's got a ton of records and no Super Bowl. I understand he only went to one, but with the talent of his right arm, it's a shame he didn't get another crack at it. Jim Kelly had FOUR chances, you HAVE to punch it in at least once (even the Eagles eventually won the NFC Championship).
