Sorry, no children involved and no professional reason. Brief history......she was in a relationship for 13 yrs but only marrried the last 3. I'm divorced 5 yrs and her 4yrs and have been together for 4yrs. She did have doubts about leaving, going back and forth few times, for a year before they divorced. May be he didn't want her back bucuse she played to many games. Guilt...may be. Lazy.....just an excuse. Still in love and hopefull.....hmmm.

Other than if there are kids involved and it's a huge hassle to change your name, maybe she likes the sound of her married name better. I had a really ghastly maiden name that no one could pronounce, let alone spell, and I love my married name!

I'm sre there are a half dozen reasons, but to know hers - you'll have to ask her. In some cases it's for the children, in some - maybe she likes it better than her married name? Also, maybe she became established in her career with this name and it would be too much of a hassle to change it...

I dont know. But only reason I wouldnt (if I ever got divorced) Is because we have a child together and its better when you and your child have the same last name. Other than that, I dont see any reason to keep it. Unless she just doesnt want to be bothered w/ having to go change her name on everything again. (ID, work, bills, etc)

Because it's a pain in the butt. Paperwork, long lines, etc (ask any woman who's ever had to do it after getting married). Also, if children are involved, she may want to keep the same name as they have.

If I get my divorce I plan on changing back to my maiden name as soon as possible. The only connection will be my children.

This is a choice that she has to make for herself and her life. No one can make this choice for her. Maybe she has not thought about doing this as of yet. Why dont you ask her and maybe she will tell you why. If they had children together this could be a reason wny she has not done this as well.

Maybe there are kids involved? It's also a hassle having to change everything like your drivers license, all credit cards, utility bills.

There is a lot of trouble and inconvience and also explanations to friends and others. Especially when children are involved.
