Yes they do move during a contraction...at least that's what my nurse told me when I was in labor; however, I was in pain and that's what I was concentrating on. I wouldn't worry if you can't feel it, chances are your baby is moving it's just you're concentrating on the contraction. As long as you feel him/her move in between you're fine. Believe me, you WILL know when your contractions are real...they'll be no question. They will be painful instead of uncomfortable and they'll have a pattern. Good Luck

Usually the baby becomes less active then inactive during labor. The contractions can start at any distance apart. There is no set time. They gradually, usually, become closer. With my son, they were actually unending, one would start right after the other ended, just before I had him. I think the standard contraction length is about 1to 3 minutes, but like all pregnancy and childbirth stats varies with each person.

Play it probability-free and do not attempt to make the prognosis your self. in case you have not hit 37 weeks yet and also you're having 4 or extra contractions in an hour, or have the different indications of preterm confusing artwork, call your caregiver at modern-day. by the point you're interior some weeks of your due date, those contractions would get extra extreme and extra conventional, and reason some soreness. no longer like the faster painless and sporadic Braxton Hicks contractions that led to no glaring cervical substitute, those would help your cervix "ripen": gradually melt and efface, and perhaps even commence to dilate slightly. this era is often observed as "pre-confusing artwork."
