Mostly fine algae and bits of food that make it to the bottom of the tank. They can do well on sinking tablets or shrimp pellets as well.

Ghost Shrimp are omnivorious and will eat anything. Mine eat flake fish food, algae on the tank, steal bloodworms from the betta and even grab the pellet foods.

Its fun to watch them swim upside down as they try to grab food on the surface.

Caution: READ the ingredients on flaked food or any food, if it contains copper DO NOT feed it to the shrimp, they will die. I killed my 1st batch of Ghost Shrimp with vegie flakes, i was wondering why they were dying despite treating the water with copper removing conditioner. Turned out the food was killing them.

Ghost! (surprised nobody answer that!) LOL.

Nah, they eat almost anything. They would also preferred live food that dry food. And when they get bigger and know fishes like Betta won't want to fight for food, they will snatch the food! End up, you will be feeding shrimps than fishes.

They are certainly lousy algae eaters, don't ever expect they to clear your tank, algae-free.

Mine eat flake fish food, algae, and bloodworms, but what they really go crazy for is hard boiled eggs. Just the whites, not the yolk.

Pretty much anything. Unless you have a lot of them they'll get by on the food that you fish miss.
