My laptop had a three pronged plug our house only has two pronged outlets my stupid boyfriend broke one of the prongs off> It works fine when it is plugged into the wall if I take it out it will shut down in about 15 mins. whatcould the prob be?

how old is your l/top? chances is that the battery is wacked, go to your laptop's battery icon click on it & watched the status, if it drains very fast after a full charge, replace the battery

It could very well be battery overkill. If you ever plugged in your laptop and kept it like that-never really taking it out or just letting it charge for long, long periods of time, that could be the reason. What happens is that the battery gets used to the high power, so when it is not being charged, it can't supply the computer with the adequate amount of power.

If this sounds right, you should get a new battery because that one WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE.
