I would recomend moving to the area, but NOT in Houston or Houston ISD. Moving to the Clear Lake area, the Katy Area, Magnolia Area, or the Woodlands would be great areas to move to.
There is so much to do and so much to see. Houston and the metro area is spread out...so it is not like NYC or Chicago. You have the gulf nearby, you have the hill country between 3 to 5 hours away, and many other neat/cool/fun places to visit...and these places (for the most part) are only between 2 to 10 hours drive away.

There are many parts of Houston that are very nice to live in. And the surrounding metro areas are also nice. We are a big city but unlike other major cities we are spread out, our city stretches over a vast area. It's nothing like New York City or Chicago! We are a unique place both in a physical sense and also with a very diverse community.

It all depends on what you do for work. If you are a computer genius working for a major computer company like Intel or Microsoft from the west coast then that is not a good career move cause Houston is not a big computer industry type jobs. But if your in the medical field or like engineering then yes there are alot of those type of jobs down here and its a good strong market and easy jobs here. The cost of living is cheap down here wich is nice. Me and my husband moved down here about a year ago from Oregon and love it.

If you're young and single, this is not the most exciting place to live. The weather can be a big downer as well - it gets pretty dang humid and hot here. However, many people LOVE Houston - the standard of living is reasonable and the housing market is incredible. You can get a very nice home for $100K here.

The Job Market is pretty good. The weather is hot, sticky, and very humid in the summer. Texans are friendly and polite, despite the few arrogant ones you'll run into. Luby's cafeteria is the best.

depends on where you're moving FROM. if you like the city and all it has to offer then sure come on over. the shopping is good, so is the food, and the weather isn't all that bad except for in the summer when it's bloody scorching and humid. the suburbs are great but then most suburbs of any city can be.

I would. Plenty of jobs (especially if you are in banking or engineering), decent wages, low cost of living compared with either cost, good housing prices, no state income tax... and well, we have the country's largest rodeo going on right now!
