I am nearing completion of my BS-Business and so far so good. CCU speaks to their accredition on their website at www.calcoast.edu. They are locally and national accredited.
I enrolled at the end of 2003. My employer reimbursed me for the first year and then I used the payment plan. I have been attending while working and the flexibility has been great! The classes move as fast or as slow as you allow. The course work seems comparable to traditional colleges. You can order your books at www.amazon.com for a deep discount. Just enter the book's ISBN and it comes right up. I have sold probably 70% of my books back through amazon.com after I complete my course requirements. The biggest challenge has been staying self motivated. It seems there are always so many other things to do in life. I think of myself as being highly self-motivated too!
My wife attended a year or so ago and completed the Masters in Education. The school district she works for recognized the degree and she was moved up on the salary scale. The best way is to research DETC (Distance Education Training Council <-- National Agency) as well as your employer or prospective employers. Good luck!
