when i try to turn on my laptop a light above a "A" letter is blinking and my computer will not come on.

It might refer to the "A" Drive--- usually the floppy disk drive letter. You probably have to put your system disk in to boot your computer up.

Oh, mine always does that too. I'm not sure what it's for but I think it's like it's "Breathing monitor" to make sure it's working correctly. :-D
