In the entertainment media, fathers are portrayed as bumbling idiots, especially if they are white. When was the last time you saw a tv show that had a moral, smart, caring, loving father in it? Be honest now.
By moral I don't necessarily mean Christian
In the news media, you never hear of them unless there is a "special investigative story" on dead beat dads which usually crop up during ratings

I think that single fathers are over glorified in the media. Single mothers and looked down upon while single fathers are like some sort of hero when in actuality they re both heroes. Woman have been raising families by their selves for years.

They are generally ignored unless there is a spicy story concerning them or mostly their kids.
