I think the cop had a lot of sympathy for Franklin because they both have sick kids. When he gave him the rope it might be a way out for Franklin maybe he will be transported to a mental hospital where he will have a chance to escape or the rope will break. I don't think he will die but two other escapees have so it could happen. If they keep killing them off the show can't last long unless they start the process over ever couple seasons with new prisoners.

I love prison break. And I am in LOVE with Wentworth. I honestly don't know if the show would be so good without him, but the show is good at creating exciting plots, and always a commercial right when it looks like something bad is going to happen. Prison break is one of my favorites. Have you seen the Sarah Sliverman Program? pretty funny
