I'd love to hear Wanda Sykes say, "Miss Scarlet Miss Scarlet, I don't know nothin bout birthin no babies!" That would be hilarious.

I don't think it could be done. They already tried that with that misbegotten spawn of the devil TV movie based on "Scarlett," and it REALLY didn't work. I think they had Timothy Dalton as Rhett Butler. GWTW is just so completely iconic that trying to successfully cast anyone else in those roles would be an exercise in futility.

Jessica Alba would probably be great for Scarlett and George Clooney for Rhett. Carrie Underwood would make a great Melanie and wouldn't it be hilarious if Mary J Blige was the woman who helped birth Melanie's baby? Of course, I expect some attitude!!!

good q! umm.... george clooney as rhett, duh, he is the modern day clark gable. and i think angelina jolie would make a fantastic scarlett. i think that matt damon would make a good ashley, and hmm who for melanie? i know! anne hathaway. she has that "too sweet to be real" kinda face. sally field would be a good ellen ohara, too.
