this is my prompt:

To Kill a Mockingbird is a loss of innocence story. In order to lose innocence, you have to have had it at some point. Loss of innocence is usually a result of an experience, or more than one, which leads to a new point of understanding.

Choosing either Scout Finch or Jem Finch, trace how the character you choose evolves throughout the course of the story. You will be tracing the change in character from the beginning to the end, so your essay will have these parts:

1.An introduction that includes an outline of all parts to be discussed, giving the reader a sense of direction. This will include your thesis statement. (1 paragraph)
2.A statement of how the character is in the beginning (1 paragraph)
3.The chronologically ordered events that change the character (2 paragraphs minimum)
4.A statement of how the character is at the end (1 paragraph)
5.A conclusion that wraps up the argument made (1 paragraph)

Each of your body paragraphs should

There are a number of significant incidents. I don't want to do your work for you, but pay attention to the part where Atticus shoots the rabid dog, where he stands up to the lynch mob, where Atticus remonstrates Scout for criticizing a child who pours syrup on his dinner, etc. Of course, the attack scene where she learns that the world is not safe, where Boo Radley "comes out" and she finds that people who are different are not really that different at all. This is also the major theme of the racial tension that is created by the court case and the subsequent killing of an innocent man. This is a great book and quite easy to spot references. Good luck. It will be fun to write your report.

That's hard!
All I could think of was
Scout showed loss of innocence when Jem and her got busted when they were messing around the Radley Place
I don't even think that was in the book!
I SOOOOO SORRY!
GOOD LUCK ANYWAY!
=D
