I think he did what he could, while he was President of the Confederacy, but he had a tough job. Not only was there the Civil War going on, he had to try and organize his administration who all had different thoughts, and with the fast confusion of a war, it could not have been easy. I think he thought he was helping the South to conserve their rights given to all by the Constitution, and the right to secede from the Union, which IS, and WAS a RIGHT! So yes, he was a good president, but probably a better man. In my opinion.
Here is a general observation of Jefferson Davis, in the link ,below.
(For those who say Jefferson Davis was a traitor, they don't know American history at all, and they certainly don't know the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights! According to our forefather's, and the RIGHTS they wrote down, the South had the RIGHT to secede. Read folks! It might do you some good!)

You DO know that he was prez of the CONFEDERATE States of America, right?
They lost their war to secede from the Union and they were impoverished for generations following.
So no, I would think he was not a good president.

He was terrible actually.
He was the only President of the CSA, and they lost the war. Not to mention he was a sellout to the USA.

Good honest man that did nothing illegal at that time. West Point Grad. also. Too bad that his final home was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. That's sad.

Since none of us were alive back then, how would we know?
All we could get is someone else's opinion of what he was
like. Read some history, and take your pick.
