You definitely did the right thing. I hope they prosecute her.

If it wasn't a really hot or freezing day and the windows on the vehicle were closed, I would have definitely stopped and waited a few minutes and looked around a bit. If nothing happened after a few minutes and the owner of the vehicle didn't return, I definitely, like you, would have called 911. A lot of people don't have time to stop and monitor other people's mistakes in the making, so....
I think you did the right thing. In fact, I know you did the right thing!
Good job!
If it was a very hot or freezing day or even if the infant was in the car alone with sun beating down on them, I would have been a little upset and called 911 immediately.

You did the right thing by calling 911. You just don't leave a infant alone not even for a few minutes. Anything could of happened to that baby.

You were not out of line... You 100% did the right thing. I can't believe people are so stupid. With all the warnings of the dangers of leaving kids in cars, parents still do it. Some idiot parents try to justify leaving a kid in the car, by saying, I was only gone for a minute or they were asleep and I didn't want to wake them... Anyone who needs to defend themselves or justify their reason for leaving a kid in the car, should not be a parent. There is never a good reason to put a child in danger. Only a moron who doesn't care about their kids tries to defend and justify their own stupidity. It is pure laziness. People should think about trying to run errands and having kids at the same time... If you can't get your children in and out of the car while running many errands...Don't have kids... Kids safety is a number one prority.

No you were not out of line she was. She very much put her infant in danger. Studies show People tend to lose track of time when they are in a store. This infant could have died from heat stroke, been kidnapped etc. I have also called the police on someone who left their small children in the car. KUDOS to you it was the right thing to do.

You did right. The infant should not have been left alone no matter what. Shame on the mother - if the police came out and wrote up a report it's a good wake up call for her. I'm proud of you!

She was out of line . You were only looking out for a helpless infant . It's hard to think anyone would leave an infant alone , but with so many deaths in recent years , we are more aware of the problem . I reported it once - after waiting for an adult to surface . One never did ..

I'd call 911 after I smashed the window and opened the car.

DUH!! Especially if it's summer, because people (especially kids) can die of the heat in a car, even if the AC is on! Also, either the baby or the car with the baby might have got stolen.
You did the right thing!
Now, if it's an older kid (Say 13ish) with other kids then I beleive it's ok because they can get out of the car if it's too hot and walk into the store (or other place) and find the adult. But a baby! omg.. he/she can't do anything about it!

Absolutely not. Does this woman ever watch the news? So many bad things could happen in such a short time. Ugh, how terrible of her and good for you.
