Five years ago, I found out that my daughter was struggling with a drug addiction, my business closed and I personally owed $50,000 with no income. Plus, my daughter's friend died in a car wreck and my car was repoed. My credit was ruined and I couldn't even get an apartment without my mother co-signing. Well, that was all a very hard time. I did alot of praying, working, paying, getting help for my child, did I say praying? If it hadn't been my faith in God and the help of my great family, I wouldn't have made it. Things are better now, my daughter is drug free, married and is a mother, I owe about $20,000, I'm making more money then I've ever made. I just bought my own place to live. Thanks to the good Lord.

Yes....

Thought I would be so successful when I graduated after my junior year of HS and began a job in downtown Chicago. I was the sh*&.

Married and pregnant shortly there after
First baby born preemie and passed to God within 2 days
Had a baby at 18
Divorced at 21
Single Mom - no child support for 5 years
Worked full time- school full time- and a part time job for 3 years
TOUGH YEARS. Thought about sending my child to my Mom miles away- or living in our car- several times. The person who waited the longest for money got it when I had it. It was scary.

I am now in my 40's-remarried 15 years. Hub adopted my son (now 23) who never saw the sperm donor after age 4. I am a Sr Mgr of Accounting making good bucks and we live in a decent home in an upper class area.

You can do it... but you gotta work it HARD.

I would say just about everybody has some more some less. Ive had my times. Thats when you discover what you are made from. And somehow if we keep at it we survive. That's just life.

"If you don't ever fall, how are you going to know what getting up feels like"

That's a quote from the movie "Roll Bounce".

I found that statement profound. Especially as I watch my 10 month old baby try to walk.
