Hahaha, that book is how old? *checks wikipedia* It's from 1532, so, granted that no one renewed the copyright, it's been in public domain (IE, free to quote/copy/read online) for about 400 years. I think 400 years is quite safely out of the timeframe for copyright protection in most (if not ALL) countries.

I guess it would be legal to download it for your own personal use. What you can't do is pass it off as your own creation, which would be plagiarism; you can't make a profit from it by selling it to someone; and even though it is not copyrighted in the United States, it does have a copyright elsewhere, so it can't be used for any other purpose except for your own enjoyment.
