This was not good. I hadn't started my car in about a week. Its been parked outside in average temperature of around 30 F.
I just started it tonight and when I backed out, I saw there was a black tar on the snow , about a circle's worth with diameter about 3-4 inches. It was under the front part of my car.

I dont kno wmuch about cars but it looks like it would be an oil leak?

What do I do?

Thanks.

first thing to do would be to check all your fluids. then fill them as neccecary. then since you said you don't know much about cars i would ask a few friends to refer you to a good mechanic to have it checked out.

Before you do anything check your oil. If your car is out of oil it can lock up your engine and you have a huge problem. After you do that take it to a trusted mechanic.

you need to take it to shop, and have them check it out, this could be serious ,and it may get worse also,if it wasn't doing this before and just started id get it checked real soon, good luck with it.

Cars don't have "tar" so chances are it was oil.
