I feel that it is just a way to ensure that the the person is well fed. It shouldn't really have anything to think about. If at all it bothers someone, then one should sit himself when it's time for that person to eat.

i want to know why she is even sitting at the table with him...
i have to sit in the kitchen while he eats and only when he is through eating can i eat my food...
