The Chanticler Restaurant at the Hotel Negresco in Nice, France.
We had 4 different wines, five or six courses with a few freebees throw in by the Maitre d', including a chicken dish, a cassoulet (kind of like a heavy casserole thing with white beans, cheese, etc.), escargot, fruits, cheeses and a killer dessert that had about every color in the rainbow and a million calories of chocolate, orange, brandy, etc. I think the bill was about $800. We both felt so sick afterwards that for a couple of days we ate nothing but salad and fruit!

Each and every meal I had was the best meal i ever had. Had those meals @ as home cooked treats, hawker dishes, restaurants' delicacies etc. I'm thankful that I'm able to have a meal and be able to enjoy the dining pleasures with loved ones and friends. Think about it, there are children, teens, adults, elderly in pockets of each country/continent that are never sure of when their next meal is what more a "best" meal.. So we should really be humble and be thankful for each meal we have. "Best" is a perception.

Peter Luger's Steakhouse in Brooklyn, NY. I had the Porterhouse steak. For the starter, I had there beefsteak tomatoes with onions and the house steak sauce. Delicious.
My second favorite is the Steak dinner at Arthur's Tavern in Hoboken, NJ.
Cost: Peter Luger's- about $85
Arthur's Tavern- about $20

every year at Lunar New Year, at my parent's house, we sit down to have 'reunion dinner'. it's the kind of meal you can't get with money because every family member is sitting there, eating the dinner together as a family. my mum would serve up the best dishes. that's the best meal i had.

The best fast food i have ever had was at a small hole in the wall pizzaria in the Bronx along Morris Park Ave. The calzones and pizza were to die for!

Of course no one could cook like by mother, her cooking was the best! I really DO miss her and her food. RIP mom.
I would probably have to say that "Mann's Grill" in Indianapolis, Indiana is a close 2nd choice. Anything on the menu is good & they serve "huge" portions!

I always treat any meal that i had the best, becos i feel dat we shld learn to be content with wat we have or can have and just make do :)
as for place, i would say anywhere basically becos is the company that counts.. e.g. friends, family members, love ones..
maybe i din not think deep enuff abt your question, but i believe simplicity is a beauty.
but just for the record, i had my mum's stir fried noodles for breakfast this morning.. it was greatttt ! i guess homecooked food is always better :)
Cheers :)
