who do musicians (bands) remember all the lyrcs or notes during a concert?

-I was told that they have little screens in the speaker boxes with the notes and lycrs, (like a korake machine) but I have never seen this. For a big band like Metallica they have a lot of songs plus covers that they would have to remember.

Practice - they play the same songs over and over and over, until they can do it in their sleep with their hands tied behind their backs.

The songs they play are either ones they've written or chosen to cover because they like them. I can hear a song that I haven't listened to on almost a decade and somehow I can still remember the lyrics just standing in line at the shopping center.

They usually do have lists of what songs they will be playing and in what order - called a set list.

If you mean how; my hubby played in a band when we first met and he had over 150 songs memorized, words and guitar notes. I asked him how he remembered all those songs and he really didn't have an answer. He said it was probably because he played the songs several times a week.

Do you mean, how? They practice these songs countless times. After awhile, they become second nature. Sometimes their mind goes blank though, and they have to improvise.

They've played the songs and practiced so that they remember it, and when all else fails, cue cards....

cuz they practice all of their music thousands of times..its just like memorizing anything..a combination to something, your phone number, etc..
