I'm watching this new game show, "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" This woman has no idea how many states lie on the Pacific Ocean. (She forgot Alaska and Hawaii.) Betcha they know who Anna Nicole Smith is.

FredHH: The show's gimmick is that the questions come out of 5th grade textbooks.
Cuppycake: either that was a lucky guess, or you are as smart as a 5th grader. Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, S. Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado border Nebraska. Next?
I am also a public school teacher. Middle school math. It is amazing how little many parents know, and they still think they can do a better job than I can. So while I am generalizing (Curmudgeon), I am not that far off.

No, I don't ever wonder how incredibly stupid Americans are; I see it firsthand every day as a teacher in the public school system.
If you just peruse these "Yahoo! Answers" you get an amazing glimpse into our society: "How much would it cost to get birth control without my parents consent?" "I am ubsessed with soccer - is this weerd?" "How can I get a teachers edition textbook?" ... and we wonder why we're in our current situation.

Did she live in that part of the country? I live in the midwest and I am not absolutely sure I would have gotten that question right either. Alaska Hawaii California, Oregon and maybe Washington? I am guessing

i've got been "American unfavorable" and that i agree that it extremely is totally distinctive than being in a third international u . s . a . and unfavorable. on the different hand, it extremely is all relative.
