I'll rewrite the equation to avoid ambiguity
delta d = (v1 +v2) /( 2 x delta t)

multiply both sides of the equation by ( 2 x delta t) and we have
( 2 x delta t) x delta d = (v1 +v2)

finally solving for v1 we get
v1=( 2 x delta t) x delta d - v2
