No, you will not get fleas. They will not INFEST you the way they will infest a dog. You may get bitten by them, but fleas don't really like to feed on humans. Follow through with your apointment. But you need to get some frontline and either have the groomer apply it, which i reccommend. Or you can do it. Then while the dog is at the groomer, clean all bedding. Your's and the dogs. Wash in HOT water. Spray with a flea killer all over your house. And continue applying frontline once a month from here on out.
Frontline wil stop the cycle. Frontline gets in to the sebacious glands and distibutes the chemical throughout the body. when a flea bites your dog, it will kill the flea. This is he best way to end the cycle, along with keeping everthing clean. Bedding, etc.
A flea will bite you, but it will just give you an ugly nasty, very itchy welt. But you really don't have to worry about it infesting you.
But please keep up the cleanliness because they can get in everything. Vacuum everything and then throw out the bag. Do this as much as neccessary!

It's unlikely that you'd actually be infested with fleas, though the fleas from your dog will bite you. At worst you'd have a couple on your bed that might bite you at night but they wont stay in your hair or on your body. If there were any in your hair or on you they'd be washed off when you shower.

The best way to get rid of them is what you're doing now; bathe the dog. You might also want to go to the vet and pick up some flea medication that you can apply to your pet every three months. Do this even during the winter, this way if you happen to have any fleas in your carpet they wont get on your dog and multiply throughout the winter and be a problem in the summer.

Since she sleeps on the bed with you and you know she has fleas you should run the bedsheets, pillow cases and blankets through the washer at least once, twice if you're really concerned about fleas in your bedding. Between the washer and the dryer that will certainly take care of any fleas that are likely in there.

You should also get some flea powder for your rug at the pet store and follow the instructions. Sprinkle the powder on your rugs and let it sit for the suggested amount of time and then vacuum and it should get any fleas out of the rug that may have jumped off your dog.

I know all that sounds like a lot, and since you only saw a couple fleas it might not be entirely necessary but it's better to do it all now than to find out a few months from now that you've got a flea problem that you could've solved earlier.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

It is absolutely possible for a human being to have fleas- that's how the Black Plague was spread in the Middle Ages, in fact. Fortunately, the only reason people were getting fleas is because they didn't bathe often enough, so if you're a clean person and you shower regularly you don't have anything to worry about (although you may still get bitten by fleas if she's sleeping with you). Flea baths are probably the best way to get rid of fleas. I've had no luck at all with flea collars, pills, or that ointment stuff. Good luck!

no you cant get fleas and petsmart wont help you need frontline or advantage. the fleas can infest your house and yard so you need to bomb the house and treat the yard after getting advantage, don't even think about a flea collar those things don't work. Fleas will bite you but wont stay on you you're blood is too cold for them. i have worked in an animal hospital for 3 years.

You should get her some flea treatment. Some brands are called Advantage or Frontline.
And yes, the fleas will get on you and bite you. And they will infest your house if you dont get them under control. Its best to get the problem fixed now before summer, because when it warms up, fleas will be a pain to get rid of
Good luck!

humans can't carry animal fleas, but they can come to us and bite us (trust me i have 4 cats and a dog), be very careful, the fleas could actually stick on your clothing (my socks for example), make sure to wash, and treat your animals.
