I was wondering how many of us would be willing to pay for our Internet persona(s) or alter egos out there in cyberspace.

Since I adopted the name of "Lighthawk Demon" so many years ago I've noticed that I'm not the only one, nor can I ever find out or prove I was (or was not) the original.

I started thinking and decided to post the question to the masses...

So, IF they ever set up a national (or international) archive to track and assign specific Internet names (personas) to individuals for a moderate yearly price (sort of like web site names, etc.) and it couldn't be used by anyone else so long as you "own" the right to it... would you? Just to keep your "handle" all to yourself?

If you would pay, how much would you be willing to give up for each one.
