He's not unknown.. HARDLY.. you must have went to a crappy school (Pardon but there are many of them) There is even a famous rock band named after him (TESLA).. maybe you never heard of em because Edison bought out his patents etc..(Edison was notorious for that , (he was in it for the money i dont blame him)the majority of his patents were bought.. or developed by employees of his not him personally) but actually the dude(Tesla) invented AC electricity (and a few other things)
Hes (Tesla) not usually included in American history though because well.. he wasnt an American.. He was a Austrian of Serbian ethnicity ..(who else in history was an Austrian? Umm Adolf Hitler(No Hitler wasnt German thats another misconception).. Arnold Swartzenegger LOL) American history is VERY ethnocentrically warped towards Americans only.. case in point. a NAZI developed and ran NASA (Von Braun) and several nazis ran Nasa after him.. America would not even have a rocket program if not for the Nazis.. But they dont tell you that in school LOL (but it is a mater of public record even in America.. but its not in the School books)
I consider myself pretty Average.. and even i know what a Tesla coil is LOL
