I have a prescription for Diflucan; I wonder if this will help any more than the OTC creams.

yes the Diflucan works much better that the OTC's and is not messy like those are, however....even tho you only take one dose it does still take a week or so to be totally gone but most of your main symptoms like itching shuld go away sooner. i have taken diflucan a few times

Want to correct a little the first answer, taking intestinal flora(probiotic) pills inside helps as well, because the vaginal flora is connected with the intestinal, so if one of them is imbalanced so it will probably affect the other one. So i would just suggest buing the pills and take them internally and hmm... internally again:)) Just take a capsule ,empty it into a very small amount of water, soak your tampon in it a little, and insert it overnight. You'll feel like newly born in the morning!

As disgusting as it may sound, I've found using plain yogurt, with probiotic culture does help ease the itching and does provide relief for a couple of hours. You don't eat it thought...you put it right on the itchy part

Try mixing 3 tbsp baking soda in 12oz warm water and put it in a squirt bottle(Peri-bottle)... Rinse with solution after bathroom visits and pat dry. The bottle you may be able to find at the drug store or medical supply....

The infection may go too far up to be cured by O.T.C. medicine.

See your GYN so he/she can prescribe a stronger antibiotic.
