the old time equivalent of a fuse or a modern circuit breaker....usually found in the fuse block......but I,m not sure if they had a central block in that year......follow your wiring back to the power source......it shouldn't be too hard on that vehicle.....it didn't have near the wiring of a newer vehicle!.....it,s either in a block......or in line.....mounted separately.

I own a shop, and have worked on a few of these in my day, heck I even owned one back years ago. What you need to do is pull the light switch out, and I think what you will find is; the rheostat that controls the lights intensity is either burned in two, or is corroded up real bad. A good cleaning with some electronic cleaner may even resolve the problem. The Chevy picks up its power from the light switch itself, and may have a fuse on the switch. Make a jumper wire to jump across the rheostat part of the switch, and if the lights come on, then you have located the problem. If not, then suspect a grounding problem where each light plugs in. A jumper wire can be used to make the lights work right off the back of the lights themselves, and then work your way back to the light switch. Some had a fuse on the back of the light switch, and some were on the back of the board the lights plug in to. One thing I use when troubleshooting electrical components is; I use straight pins (like come in new shirts) to push through the wires, and that way you don't have to skin the insulation back, or have a place you have to repair after checking the wires. Just push the pin through the wire, check it, and remove the pin when you are done. Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!
