HARRY POTTER !! - WHO can tell me . . . . . . . .?

Question

I believed that every H.P. film was a different book ,now yesterday I been talking with this wise [?] person and she said to me that ,HARRY POTTER is one and only one book,and all those films are differents histories from this book and seems that it was written some 20 o 30 years ago.
When was the first book or H.P.written [because I still believen that there are a few of them] and what is the name of the author.
In my mind I have something like if H.P. were a book something like Dr.Zeus and we read those at school.-
Sorry to H.P. fans for my luck of knoledge but now I like to know and I think that never is too late to learn something.-

well whoever said that is either lying to act smart (most likely) or simply doesnt know...& therefore a very sorely dumb loser.

harry potter is not from 30 years ago. it started in 1999 or 2000.

there are 7 books one for each year of the character, harry, from 11 years old to 17.

each movie is based on its current book, ie school grade for harry, by the same name.

for eg:

the first book is:

Harry Potter & the Philosophers Stone (america changed it to Sorceror's Stone cuz they dont seem to know what Philosipher's Stone is *snort* ANYway...& dont jump me for that comment cuz ive got some american friends who agrees with it...)

the movie is the same thing (aka sorceror's stone in the USA)

here are all the titles & their initials that people use to represent them.

1: philosopher's stone/sorceror's stone<
2: chamber of secrets (COS)

3: prisoner of azkaban (POA)

now the 7th one isnt out yet. will be here july 21st this summer a couple weeks after the movie for grade 5 of harry's life..that is...OOTP comes out july 13.

she came up with the very first book while on a train home & wrote notes for it on napkins. trains are very special to her cuz her parents met on a train & trains show up a lot in the HP series.

the name "harry potter" supposedly is her godson's name or the son of her best friend anyway & she sorta worked the character out from there & named it for him. dunno if this last part is true or not but im quite sure it is.

J.K. Rowling has written seven books, although the seventh (and last) book will not be out until 7/23. At one point I heard that each book would correspond to a year of Harry's schooling at Hogwarts Academy. So far there have been four movies, which correspond directly to the first four books. The fifth movie will open on 7/13.

The films have the same names as the books, at least so far:

1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Philosopher's Stone, in Great Britain)
2. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

The first Harry Potter book was published in around 1999, there are six books currently, one sceduled to come out in july, and there are four movies, right now they are working on the fifth one. Each movie is for a different book.

Ok, I belive that the "WISE PERSON" is wrong in a way, Lord of the Rings the Trilogy came out in 1954..thats around 50 years ago...and the movie came out in around year 2000?? or something, anyway getting back to the point, the author of Lord of the Rings died at the age of 81..it took him 14 years to write the books (that is a long time!) and he wrote it in many different languages! hope that helps!
