Does American Idol play at the same time all across America?

What time does it come on in the West Coast? Do we all find out at the same time who goes and who stays?

It's live on the east coast, at 8 or 9 pm (depending on the day). The other coasts have it on at 8 or 9 in their time zone, but it isn't live for them.

For example, 8 pm in California is 11 pm in NY. So the people in NY have already seen it.
