Srabble, chess, backgammon.

And whilst not necessarily a board game, Yahtzee is a great game to play. Not only can you enjoy it alone, but also with others.

Another fun game is Rummikub.

Most Whist based card games (Solo, Bridge, Whist, Nominations, etc.) are good if there are three to five persons, Chess is unbeatable for two, & Monopoly if there are more.
There used to be a great racing car game called Formula 1, the beauty of this was that everyone was still in at the end of the game (unlike Monopoly), also Cluedo is quite good for the same reason.

Senior Moments. It's a board game. I played it with my husband, parents, and niece after I got it for Christmas and had a blast. You read items from a list, and you have to name some of them back to advance around the board; the object of the game is to "find" your "car keys". Skip-Bo, a card game from the makers of Uno, was also a game my grandparents immensely enjoyed.

I love playing Shove Ha'penny when I go to my mother-in-laws house.
Also there is a game called absolute balderdash which just requires a bit of imagination and I have played this with people aged from 8-80 and everyone could join in and enjoy the game.

How senior are we talking 30's, 40's, 50's, I've always found RISK (The world domination game) quite a good one but also consider Monopoly and Snakes & Ladders!

Monopoly, scrabble, um..... I like Downfall and Connect Four.

Quite hard when you think about it.

How about one of those interactive dvd games you play on the telly? My brother would go for Family Fortunes. My sister Bingo. Me, Catchphrase.

Or playing cards.

Have fun.

if there are four of you, play Spades. I know it's not a board game, but it's a pretty fun team card game

Chess. This is one of my favorite board games =)

There's also some others, like Risk, Stratego.. Uno...

Just set some out, and let them dig into what they like.
