We had a similar question the other day. Here was my answer then. I hope this is similar to what you are looking for.
First a disclaimer: You shouldn't even consider trying to begin your labor until you are around 40 weeks pregnant or overdue. That's because your due date could be inaccurate by a few weeks, and if you start your labor before 40 weeks, you might givebirth to the baby before he is ready to thrive outside the womb.
Now, that said, there a few ways that you could try to start labor, but nothing is foolproof or a guarantee.
Many women walk, A LOT. Walking stimulates the muscles in your uterus and may stimulate contractions.
It has been said that tea with thyme has induced labor for many women.
Eggplant parmegiana. It is said that it is not actually the eggplant that induces labor, but the seasonings added to the dinner. Basil and Oregano are said to contain herbs that supposedly can stimulate labor contractions.
Primrose oil - This is another natural product that is said to start contractions.
Acupuncture - This is sometimes used to induce labor by placing acupuncture needles on the inner calf and between the thumb and forefinger. You can also rub these 2 areas for 30 seconds each and that is supposed to induce labor.
Doctor Stripping Membranes - The doctor can strip your membranes by inserting 2 fingers into the woman’s uterus and moving them from side to side, pulling the membranes away from the cervix wall.
Raspberry Leaf Tea - This method was used by the Native Americans and is still sometimes used by midwives on their patients. The concept of it is based on all the others; it stimulates contractions.
Nipple Stimulation - This odd method causes oxytocin, which in turn makes your uterus contract.
Boil cinnamon sticks in with your tea and drink it, yummy and effective.
Relaxation exercises have been known to relax the woman into a state for labor to start. You can find a variety of relaxation exercises online.
It should be noted (again) that none of these ways should be used unless the you are near your due date. More than likely they will not work anyway unless the baby is ready to be born. You can give nature a little nudge but not a giant push.
Best of luck to you and best wishes for a healthy (and on time) baby!

You can paint the ceiling, hang drapes, throw yourself downstairs... nothing will help. I tried all of the above and more (except for the stairs part) but that baby is well insulated! The baby will come when it is ready and not before.
Someone might suggest castor oil. This is a foul-tasting substance that can induce labor IF the baby is ready to be born. If not, well, it's a mighty powerful laxative so you'll for sure get some action out of it.

My information is that pineapple, sparkling no longer tinned, can help ripen the cervix because of the enzymes in it, yet that it soes no longer certainly carry forth labour. Raspberry leaf tea contains good ranges of iron and calcium, strengthening the womb muscle groups and so once you do have contractions they are going to be greater effectual. even nevertheless it fairly is going to nopt carry forth labour. in case you're late, the appropriate element is to loosen up and additionally artwork out if something phychological is scuffling with infant from coming, and triumph over that. Your hormones could desire to be balanced to set off labour off. This demands which you have good ranges of zinc. many women folk people interior the united kingdom have very low zinc ranges by using it no longer being present day to any extent further in produce etc by using great farming. Zinc is critical for hormone production besides as restoration after delivery. you may desire to take 30mg zinc an afternoon it rather is secure in being pregnant. a secure and good approach to commence labour is to fill a heat bath, upload 10 drops clary sage necessary oil blended with a splash almond and olive oil (after the tub has run) and unfasten up interior the tub. Your labour could desire to commence interior of an afternoon at maximum. yet this methodology is geared up which you're late. good success

I actually tried about 1/2 of the things on InAMoment's list and went into labor within 24 hours. Some of them may seem weird, but for me they worked. I was 2 cm at my ob visit and 4 1/2 the next morning...5 at noon....you get the idea.

Walking.... walking is benifical in two ways... it moves the baby down on the cervix and it helps your cervix dilate. Sex is also a way that was reccomended to me. Sperm naturaly helps the cervix soften, and when you orgasm it helps your uterus to contract, do not have sex if your water has broken... that is the only rule. I hope that this helps, but as always, check with your dr first. He\She can give the best advice, and if your body does not want to go into labor its not going to. Your body knows when its ready, and it will not hurt the baby to stay in there a little longer.... I delivered 2 days late!

I was almost a week late with my first child. I didn't want them to have to induce labor so me and my husband went to the mall and just walked, walked and walked some more. Then, when we got home I just kept walking up and down my steps until I couldn't do it anymore. By 7am the next morning I was in labor and I gave birth to my daughter at 4:20pm that afternoon.

Just about anything you could do to bring on labor only works if you are about to go into labor anyway. Baby's come when they are ready, don't rush it, be patient. I've had two so I know where you are emotionally, but pregnancy does NOT last forever, it will be over soon enough. Once you are in labor, you may wish that you weren't!!
