...when somebody gets voted off. Or is it okay to cry?

Personally, it's okay for me to see a chick cry. But why was Sundance crying? At first, I thought he was a big man with a big heart when Alaina got voted off which to me is perfectly okay if he cried. Because sometimes you get really emotional and "it" happens. But then when A.J. got voted off, he also cried. I don't know if he also cried when Nick got voted off, because I turned it on too late. To me for him to cry because another guy got voted off, that's un-manly. Shouldn't he be happy that the other guy got voted off? One less competition to deal with.

Look at the children's national spelling bee. Do you see a kid crying because another kid misspelled a word and got kicked off?

Nope.

There should be no tears in competition. I wonder how much tears he'll have dripping out if he gets voted off. Geez. This dude really needs to "man" it out. No more crying now, Sundance.

American Idol is a little different than a spelling bee. Sure the kids may know each other, but they don't spend almost every waking minute with each other getting to know one another every day. Plus the speling bee is not as long as American Idol so the contestants feel closer to one another. I mean they need to have people they can stand by in that intense of a competition.
Personally, I probably wouldn't be crying, but you never know. I would be sorry, but inside I think that I would be happy.

No I would not cry and I`m a woman. I would have more pride in myself than to allow others to see me upset. In any case think how unattractive girls/boys look when they are crying and /or shouting and arguing with the judges. As for the ones who actually beg the judges for a second chance and go outside and bring in their mothers as well, have they no sense of decency or dignity ? After all if one of them really is such a good singer they will make it, the judges do know what they are about. They are there to make money and they do that by selecting the singers that they are pretty sure will be success full, they won`t turn away someone who they think will make it.

Well, I'd say he is probably shedding a lot of tears after getting voted off hisself last night! He seemed like an emotional person to me, and I'd say these young people form some fast tight friendships. I don't think I would be moved to tears to see any of them leave though, it is a competetion and not everybody can win, right? One by one, or two by two, down to the bottom till there is just one!! Seems like the runner up idol usually does better than the idol to me though.

It's totally alright...it's cool that he's a guy that's not afraid to express his emotions and him crying even when the guys leave is not something un-manly...it just shows he's a sensitive guy.

There is absolutely no reason that a man should not be allowed to cry

I disagree with you. If that's how he felt, then he should be allowed to express it. It's an emotional moment for them, and I thought it was sweet.
