I think people listen in to hear you cussing and making silly comments back to that voice! :-)
Heck, they need something to do - they sure aren't answering your questions! :-(

I hate being on hold and hearing the recording over and over. If it's important like the doctor, then I try to stay on for up to 30 minutes and if it's too long, I just drive to emergency. If I am calling for a question on a bill or something ike that, then 10 to 20 max. It depends on my mood and sometimes waiting puts me in a bad mood.

I have been on the hold a few times over the 45 minute mark and it is always with the same company.

Fibbing? No. Machines never lie. Just by calling, you're giving that machine Purpose. Meaning. Dignity. Sarcasm. Did I type that?

I must admit, if I'm calling the business I usually need them desperately or if it is a government agency I know there is "no better time" so I hang on as long as it takes. Once I got a stiff neck and a few times I forgot who I had called! lol
So I guess I'm saying, hang in there!

if you're waiting for something that needs to get done, my advise to you will be to put it in speaker phone and wait. You could always do something else while your hands are free... read a book, fold your laundry, pet your cat (or dog) or answer questions on line. Just remember to have whatever information you need for this call handy, you don't want to have to hang up and call again 'cause you don't have it.

Yes hang up. I am calling them for a reason and my business should be a priority to them. I only give them less than 1 minute. If not I go else where....
