That is really common. Don't worry. In the first year or two you may not have regular periods every month. Your body is still adapting & changing. When I had my first one it was about 6 months before I had the next one. Someone else I know still does not have regular ones for 2 years now.

During the first few years of menstruation, a girl’s period may be irregular. Some girls may only have three or four periods a year. Within about two years of first menstruating, girls should settle down to a more regular monthly cycle. The average menstrual cycle lasts about 28 days, but may range from 21 to 35 days. Normal cycle length varies among women and for a particular woman at different times in life.

It all has to do with your hormones and who would know best but your mom to talk to about that.

Hormone regulation can be affected by certain things off the top of my head like, stress, anorexia, drugs, cigs and even sex that may halt it or delay it. So as long as your healthy and active you should be ok.

You should see your doctor about the changes in your body.

Your body is still adapting to the physical and hormonal changes. Enjoy the time off from the period while you can. But don't worry, you're perfectly fine, it takes awhile for your body to adapt to everything.

Irregularity can be experienced by some young girls at the onset of the periods. Their cycle can be irregular for months or years while it is establishing itself.

It sounds like your body is just trying to understand what's going on!!

Don't worry--it can take years for you to be regular.
