Are we a race of Human beings that have lost the compassion for our fellow human beings that we have to seperate ourselves? It's not just about immigration and being a third world country... It is about us learning from each others cultures and loving each other as if they are all our brothers and sisters. We were not created for hate, violence and dehuminizing one another.. THINK?

I think of it sometimes in smaller terms. We are all organisms. We are a couple of steps up from amoeba. Really.

Humanity lost compassion a long time ago. Not even going way back into history, just a short while back. The "White Man" ran the Native Americans out of their own land. We had Africans as slaves. And now we don't want to accept others into our country. I think it is a fear of anything different.

But I must say that I wish people could learn to accept each other's differences. I agree with you. People could be soooo much better if they/we tried.

I think we originally were made to do what animals do now. Survive. We have instincts like eating, having sex, seeking a safe shelter, etc. We evolved into beings that stopped thinking about everyday survival and started thinking about the past, future, and so forth. I think that everybody is searching for their own version of happiness, which differs from person to person. Since we live in a society where food and shelter and such are relatively easy to come by, we act out in different ways with our feelings of anger, lust, security, etc. We go to war, we do drugs, we commit suicide. I think that our evolved brains are amazing in one sense and a curse in another sense. To finish this, I think that any feeling we feel like compassion, hate, violence, happiness, satisfaction, etc just comes down to our original survival instincts and satisfying them.
