No, I don't think it is fair. He has held his position for 14 years. It's not like his is a petaphile or a perv or anything. He should sue.

I would be surprised if a contract saying you can be fired without reason is actually legal. Who cares if he wants to be a she. His/her employers have all but admitted that the sex change is the reason for termination, which is probably a breach of their own guidelines, if not illegal. I can't imagine any of this could happen within the British legal system.

I would have to say that it is somewhat unfair especially seeing that he has been doing his job.
I think that he should appeal the sacking decision or, if there is such a thing in the US, appeal to the anti-discrimination body.

I think it is horrible....so what if a person wants to change into the opposite sex????they probably have MORE humanity than the person judging them. in fact i would have to say that they do. yes i have known people who have had this done. no details and no it is not me.

No I do not think it is fair at all. I think it is crappy to do that to him.
People are so judgmental unless it's to them or their family, then they want all the compassion and sympathy in the world.
