um...the soviet union was on the same side as the U.S. in WW2. for the future? the soviet union wanted to stop the war, since hitler was invading their land and they were also communist now. there was little tension between the Soviet Union and the U.S. during the war because the U.S.'s main concern was not the soviet union's government...in the soviet union, there were plans to spread the idea of communism to the world, or at least present it...

Spread Marxist-Leninism through out the world. And in the process dominate the world, especially in economics. In particular they would have liked domination of Western Europe. For many years the Russian mind thought of being trapped by geography. They had no warm water port to use for imports or exports.
