my husband and i are debating going to alaska to see a place we've never seen, go to puerto rico to visit family, or go to new orleans and help clean up and rebuild. the new orleans thing is kinda at the top of the list for now...

i also want to travel the east coast to visit family and friends i haven't seen since last summer.

some great cities for the summer: chicago (check out lake michigan! and the weather may not be blasphemously hot!); san diego for a bohemian, artsy, sporty, shopping pampering experience.. whatever you want, you'll find it there! and the weather is usually never too bad... it's so coastal so you get a great breeze. it's heaven! you could go up 2 and a half hours and check out LA for a little bit and when it gets too hot, go back down to san diego!; boston: can get pretty hot, but it's a maze of fun and before you know it, you could drive out into the country, go whale watching and check out some great historic sites...; providence is fun, too... lots of old beautiful architecture and stuff..; new orleans can be pretty hot and muggy, but it's gorgeous.. especially the french quarter.

places to avoid in the summer: houston.... HOT DAMN. baltimore... hot damn and MUGGY. NYC: stuffy as hell... LA: stuffy too... LA and NYC have a lot of polution, too.. which makes the heat worse.

camping: camping is great for road trips... when ever my husband and i go on long road trips, we go camping where ever we can find a place. pennsylvania has a lot of great camping, illinois, texas and arizona for a desert-feel... although in san felipe texas there is this nice foresty camp ground. very beautiful... for something eccentric, go to santa catalina island off the coast of southern california... it reminds me of the big island of hawaii... it's small, with a couple small towns and once you move away from the town it's very much secluded... you can even canoe or boat to a little island camp ground which is very very isolated... you can have all the isolation you want or you can be around lots of people while camping along the beach. your choice! i'd definitely reccommend looking up catalina island and seeing if anything sparks your interest there. i believe the island has it's own website. ahh, here it is.. check it out: http://www.catalina.com/main.html

if you did this, you could take a plane to LAX or the long beach airport and catch the ferry at the bottom of the 710 freeway. it's about an hour i think on the ferry to get to the island and from ther you can rent golf carts to drive around the island and stuff. the weather is always mild and awesome. probably in the 80's over the summer as the highest... and even if it reaches the 90's... there is still the beach!

hope some of this was useful for you! have a great summer vacation, where ever you go!

South of France to visit my husband's sister that works for the U.S State Department and is stationed in Europe. My husband and two children and my sister in law and her family will hang out in a chateau and eat, drink amazing wine, and discuss the state of the world while our innocent and beautiful children play and laugh without a care in the world...ahh I can't wait until August!
Oh and we are also visiting my family in July in both Northern and Southern California, but I am not as excited about that trip...been there done that kind of thing...

I'm definitely gonna hit Europe and, hopefully, Israel too. I'd like to see for myself what all of our BILLIONS of annual tax $ are doing in the Jewish State. Plus, I'd like to by some Hamas memorabilia, like a shot-glass or T-shirt.

In Europe, I'm going to Denmark and France. I'd like to go to Jamaica, too.
