I would say he probably means you won't be able to get your point across to whomever.
That's normally what this expression means.
Staring into a brick wall means usually means that you can't get ahead. That you can't get your point across to someone, solve an unsolvable problem ect.

Hmm....I am a science teacher. I have had students stare at a wall for a variety of reasons. A brick wall you say???
-analogy for a topic that will divide the class and not reach a final resolution....
-stare at a brick wall to make observations about the wall...
-stare at a brick wall for use in decimals...
-stare at a brick wall for use in patterning...
-stare at a brick wall and compare to a cell...
-stare at a brick wall to consider all of the materials/minerals/processes involved in creating one...
-stare at a brick wall to identify structural components...
-stare at a brick wall to identify organic/inorganic components in the wall...
-stare at a brick wall for some reason I can't think of....but, I am sure there is a good reason!
I recall a lesson years ago where I had a student stare at the lockers, blackboard and door....but it was so long ago, and I can't even recall the purpose...lol. But do remember their reaction...they loved it. (whatever it was!!!! lol)

Maybe he was speaking figuratively. He may have just meant that the next day's lesson would be very hard to comprehend or that it would be grueling work. Or maybe there is life the wall? Some kinds of bees and insects live in the cracks of the walls. Good Luck. (Please tell us when you find out what he means! :)

Would this be the same brick wall that he has been beating his head against for the last 10 years? This is the funniest thing I've heard all week. (I teach efl)

he wants to work with you on your perceptual settings.
maybe he wants to demonstrate how different people are seeing the same thing in different ways.
also he may try to test your optical nerve.
