I have Microsoft Office XP Professional 2003. Just out of curiosity, if I made copies of this disk and sold them on Ebay what would be the consequences?

It would be a form of plagiarism or "pirating". In essence, you would be defrauding Microsoft and it would be illegal. The consequences could vary from having to pay restitution, to imprisonment. Don't even consider it, out of curiosity or otherwise. My husband and I both have separate computers, and we have many networked files on our computers, but when it comes to software, such as virus protection or operating systems, we are both required to purchase separate disks, even though we share the same household.

You are smart enough to use Access, Excel, Word, Power Point,etc.., but you don't know the Microsoft police would whoop you with a rubber mouse cable for pirating their software. Bill Gates would enter the room, you under the hot light. Whack! You're lucky, that was our new cordless mouse. Next time you,re getting the one with the usb plug, after that it's serial connector time..... We won't stop til you see the blue screen of death..... Sorry I digress... Yes, you can't sell copyrighted software. You can buy .net and create your own software and sell that .

Beings as that microsoft office is copyrighted and you need a key generator to operate it and you only have one YES ! But by all means have at it/!

Yes it is illegal, and posting on eBay would not be smart considering it is a public auction site which monitors for and prevents illegal sales.
