I have a 2000 E250 with a Triton V8. In the last year I have had it at the dealer at least 6 times for an engine miss that keeps recurring. They have replaced plugs, coils, hoses, even the entire intake manifold but within a couple of months the miss re-appears. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Has anyone found a solution?

F- sreies had a heater hose with factory crimped connections that would weep and run into the #3cyl. spark plug /coil well shorting things out the evidence is an accumulation of antifreeze in the well [use a flashlight w/a focusable beam to inspect] re -routing the hoses, cutting off the crimps and using real hose clamps, and using silicon dilectric grease [available from 3m] to seal the coil boots has been the cure. i suspect your E has somthing similer going on [ford did issue a bulliton on this]
but im sure it is customer pay

Ford has had some issues with PCV valve line degration over time and the coil packs themselves are a little more known for going out than some later coil assy. (the replacements I haven't found to cause any issues)

I would have to physically look, see, and drive this vehicle to get any ideas on a miss that you have..
