ice caps melting, muslim terrorists trying to nuke us, and gas nearing $3 per gallon, oil reserves are running out. world populations soar in third world countries. war in iraq causing a soaring us deficit. enemies around the world and whittled down military cannot handle iraq much longer. they are retreating and readying to bale like in viet nam again. record home foreclosures, home value are plummeting, banks are taking up all the booty, the taliban is retaking afghanistan like the russians learned two decades ago. new orleans took up and wasted hundreds of billions and the nexct big hurricane will take it out again etc etc. aids is spreading everywhere. education is horrible. drugs and gangs are far bigger than ever. LET US PUT OUR HEADS TOGETHER AND DECIDE. NOT SAFE AND DEFINITELY CRUEL TO THE BOTTOM HALF OF SOCIETY. WHAT A DAMN MESS!

This is a hard question. For me, the world is cruel. Obviously wars everywhere, perverts, hypocrites to name a few. But was it a safe place before??
The world itself started with wars so when was it a safe place? Maybe for us we believe and feel it's safe but what about on d other side of the world? have we ever heard in our lifetime that there's not ONE day without murders, rapes, suicides, wars?? Never! So it's actually depends on us to at least try to stop these things. It sure must've start sumwhere...why not us? Action speaks louder than words.

Cruel place.

If it was a safe place, we would be able to walk around at night time without fear of being hurt. We would also be able to leave our houses unlocked at night (i wish the world was like that)

It's a cruel place. You've got to watch your back everywhere: school, scout meeting, babysitter's, relatives, job, and the store. No where is safe. Big Brother is watching, too like Orwell said in 1949.

Life is suffering. How we decide to let the suffering effect us is all our own choice, in theory. Training yourself to not let suffering bother you and seeking the positive in all things takes time and effort. The world's a cruel place.

it all depends on where you live.
take for example set of cousins i have.
they are the goodie-2-shoe (I WANT TO STRANGLE THEM!) type, who live in I da HO falls, I da Ho. that place is quite possibly a very safe place, a place where everythings honky-dory & no coruption is visible.

then take my home town, colorado springs colorado. not the most dangerous city, but has it's fare share of cuelity.
