I need statistics on how many people(adults/children) suffer from the phobia.

I really don't think that accurate statistics for such a phobia exist. There are LOTS of people who have the so-called phobia but they either don't admit to it or have never particpated in any formal study (survey) or just compensate for it but still have the phobia.

Here is a reference to one study, but it's old: 1973,

"Fear of public speaking is the number one source of apprehension in the United States. This was first pointed out in a survey of 3000 Americans by the Sunday Times of London in 1973.

The findings have been verified by countless other surveys and studies in subsequent years.

The Times survey found that 41% of the respondents listed "fear of public speaking" as their number one fear, while 19% listed "death.""
