They were a promising, young, clean cut band I saw perform in England in the early sixties and haven't heard anything from them since. What happened to them?

Yeah right! I bet you weren`t even born back in the Sixties.

If you were around then you must be damn near sixty now and your choice of avatar is a very bad one, I`m sorry to say.

The Quarrymen became Johnny and The Moondogs then The Silver Beetles and finally, The Beatles.

And, as they say, the rest is history.

Any more wise @ss questions like this one?

By the way, if you had been around back then, you would have known all that yourself, especially if you had been fortunate enough to see them performing when they were still in their mid-teens and still living in Liverpool, Merseyside, which is where you should be from considering they weren`t famous at all when they were called The Quarrymen.

The Quarrymen was John Lennon`s band first and foremost. Paul McCartney met John while he was already a Quarryman, so to speak. Paul saw John and his band perform at a Summer`s Church Fete in Liverpool and struck up a conversation with him after their performance. Paul showed John a few guitar`s riffs that John wasn`t too familiar with, was very impressed with Paul`s guitar knowledge and eventually asked him if he wanted to join the band. George Harrison came later and so did Ringo Starr, further down the line of course after they had no other choice but to ditch Pete Best because he wouldn`t change his rebellious "teddy boy" hairstyle and refuse to become more "clean cut" like the rest of them.

So I call your bluff young lady.

What`s your deal anyways?

Hope this answers your question.

Take it easy!

They learned how to play better during a few thousand hours of playing in bar down in Hamburg. They changed their name to the Beatles and became quite popular. Pete Best, the guy playing the drums who you probably thought was the best looking one, The other beatles fired him as soon as they got that EMI contract. He was replaced by Ringo. Sadly quarryman Stewart Sutcliffe died while they in Germany.

They played at the Cave in Liverpool and later became the Beatles. I believe Pete Best was the drummer at that time.

Hmmm.... one of the members got shot, one joined the Travelling Wilburys, one married a lady with a prosthetic leg, another voiced Thomas the Tank Engine.
Sound familiar?
